Feng Shui & Mirrors

The art of feng shui is a system of laws considered to govern spatial arrangement and orientation in relation to the flow of energy. In short it’s an ancient art and science that’s over 3,000 years old that helps balance the energy of any space to help bring upon health and good fortune for anyone who is using it.

In the practice of feng shui mirrors represent the feng shui element of water. It’s not hard to understand why, because water serves as a great reflector. Mirrors can help expand the look of a space which is a common decor tool to help reflect light or a large area of a small room, but is also used to attract the beneficial feng shui energy.  Placing a mirror in the right place is going to determine the flow of the energy in a room.

Feng shui has three categories of mirrors a typical mirror, concave mirrors, and convex mirrors. A typical mirror is an oval, round or square frame with the frame being wood, metal and other similar materials. These kinds of mirrors should be used around the house to help reflect energy throughout.  If you want to rid yourself of negative energy then the concave mirror will help you do that by placing a concave mirror outside of your house it will absorb the energy and neutralize it.  Although a convex is not the most favored mirror to use for feng shui by placing a convex mirror whether outside of a front door or window it will bounce back negative energy.

Whether a mirror is reflecting your look for the day or energy, mirrors have many uses and could make a huge difference in your home. Check out some of our mirrors for inspiration on what you could use for feng shui in your space.
